Power Line Communication

About the ‘PLC’

Power Line Communication (PLC) is a technology that uses power lines to both supply electric power and as well as to transmit data.

PLC module uses the existing power line as a physical media for communication. PLC can offer a “no new wires” solution because the infrastructure has already been established. Here, the existing alternating current (AC) power wires serve as a transmission medium by which information is relayed from a transmitter or control station to one or more receivers or loads connected downstream from an AC source.

Where can it be used?

  • Automatic Meter Reading ( AMR)
  • Street Light Control (SLC)
  • Home Automation
  • Process Control
  • Heating and Ventilation Control
  • Low Speed Data Communication Networks
  • Signs and Information Displays
  • Fire and Security Alarm Systems
  • Power Distribution management
